Zuccarelli for Pune Derby (Gr 1)

Betting Plan was profitable today: 3 bets, 2 winners [details highlighed below}

Mumbai, Sunday (Dec 5) races cancelled due to rains. Decision about the Sun (Dec 12) races likely to be taken soon.

The curtain comes down on the truncated Pune racing season on Sunday with bumper ten-race card framed for the occasion. The Pune Derby (Gr 1), to be run over the trip of ten furlongs, is the feature event.

Among the dozen three-year-olds in the fray, Queen O' War (A Sandesh up) is the only filly. She, along with Zuccarelli (P S Chouhan up), appeal as prime contenders for the top spot. The duo, however, may face a stiff challenge from the Bangalore challenger A Star Is Born (David Egan up). Others, who may show dramatic improvement and therefore deserve a mention, are Alastair and Sunrise.

Despite what promises to be an exciting contest, I feel the Pesi Shroff-trained Zuccarelli, who annihilated a small field in his preparatory race last Sunday, should assert his class and win the Pune Derby.

Q. What's the difference between the FREE selections column on this page, and the premium feature Betting Plan?

A: Although they are numbered as the first choice, second choice, and the fluke or the third choice, the selections listed on this page are meant to give a broad, general pointer about which 3 horses in the race are expected to dominate the finish. In simple words, we expect one of the three short-listed horses (not necessarily the first choice) to emerge as winner of the race in majority of the races. These selections are generally worked out by an automated software based on PG's research about Dynamic Handicapping and race video charting methods.

However, when PG bets for himself, he takes into account various other factors like the paddock looks, warm-up parade, movement of odds, etc, and may upgrade his second or third choice or an upset chance as a bet. Betting Plan gives you real time access to these bets PG makes for himself.
